I don’t remember when I started using sigils or when I learned how to do them, but they are one of my favorite magickal tools and something I use in almost every single spell I do. What I love about sigils is how versatile they are. You can carve a sigil onto a candle, draw one on a piece of paper and put some jewelry or a crystal on top to charge it, or paint one on your skin to wear throughout the day.
Today I’ll be teaching you how to create sigils as well as walking you through my favorite money making sigil. I keep one drawn on a piece of paper in my wallet sitting next to the $15 I found on the ground recently (not the smartest thing to pick things up off the street in 2020, but what can I say, I am a Capricorn).
Making sigils is easy. Here’s a little step by step of the process:
Write out the thing you are manifesting in the present tense, as if it’s already come true.
Cross out all the vowels in the sentence you’ve just wrote
Cross out any repeating letters
Using the consonants you have left, arrange them into an interconnected shape. You can be as creative or straight forward as you like.
So here is what I did for mine:
“I make a lot of money” as my intention-I know, there’s more important things in life than money, but it would be utterly ridiculous to ignore the fact that having money is imperative to living safely, so I won’t apologize for doing money magick. If you’ve never been poor, check your privilege.
Crossing out the vowels I’m left with, “mkltfmny” The Y in money doesn’t make the vowel sound, so I left it in.
The only repeating letter is the second m, so the letters I have to work with were, “MKLTFNY” I like to use capital letters when creating a sigil but you can do whatever feels right.
This was a rare occasion where I actually didn’t put the sigil in a circle. Well, I tried to and then I realized that I actually didn’t need it. My sigil is the one used as a thumbnail for this post.
From here I used the sigil on a green pillar candle which I lit every night from the first quarter moon until the new moon (I prefer to do spell work on first quarter moons). I wrote it on a small piece of paper to be kept in my wallet, constantly charging my cards and coins and bills and such. I also used it to charge a New Zealand green stone necklace.
Strictly hypothetically, I could have maybe possibly drawn it on a dollar bill. If I had theoretically done that and then spent the bill it might symbolize the energetic flow of money as energy, always in circulation. But, I didn’t so that for real because I’m pretty sure that’s not legal and I never break the law.
Sigils help us connect to our intuition, so have fun and make some money baby!!
